Uyajola 99 Host Jub Jub Returns To Work Amidst Serious Legal Battle

In the world of showbiz, it’s not uncommon for celebrities to lay low when facing public scrutiny, waiting for the storm to pass. However, Jub Jub, born Molemo Maarohanye, is defying this norm.

Despite being embroiled in a serious case of rape and attempted murder filed against him in July, he’s not allowing it to slow him down.

Jub Jub Returns To Work Days After Court Appearance

In a surprising turn of events, the Uyajola 99 host is already back on set, continuing his work on the popular show while the legal battle rages on. Just days after appearing in court on July 27, following his arrest at Brixton police station, Jub Jub was spotted back on set as Moja Love wraps up filming for the next season.

A source close to the channel confirmed this, saying that Jub Jub acted as if nothing had happened and was fully dedicated to his work.

He is back at work. I know management had meetings with him but what is more important is clearly the show and he has been shooting this week like nothing happened,” the source revealed.

Jub Jub is facing a daunting list of charges: three counts of rape, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of assault.

Despite the seriousness of the accusations, his lawyer, Ntsako Baloyi, insists that Jub Jub’s conscience is clear, and he believes in his innocence. The lawyer stated that his client’s return to work reflects his strong spirit and belief in his innocence.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), three of the rape charges were filed by his ex-girlfriend, a well-known media personality, stemming from incidents in 2006 and 2009 when they were in a relationship. The media personality decided to take action after Jub Jub made derogatory remarks about her on a popular podcast.

As the legal proceedings continue, Moja Love spokesperson Nonzwakazi Cekete has maintained that the channel will let the legal process run its course.

Jub Jub handed himself over, appeared in court and was released on R10 000 bail, following an unopposed bail hearing. He will be back in court on 24 August 2023.
