In the wake of Zahara’s death, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, a video clip from her interview on MacG’s Podcast & Chill revealing how much TS Records allegedly paid her has surfaced on social media. The Loliwe hitmaker disclosed that she had to beg just so she could get paid her money from her gigs.
Zahara was once signed under TS Records, the record label linked to ANC politician Thembinkosi ‘TK’ Nciza and business entrepreneur Sibusiso Leope, also known as DJ Sbu. However, she later left the record label and had a public fallout with TK Nciza and Dj Sbu as she accused them of exploiting her. For years, Zahara demanded her money from Dj Sbu and TK Nciza as she accused TS Records of shortchanging her.

Zahara Exposes TS Records: Unpaid Dues and Booking Fee Discrepancies Revealed
In the interview on Podcast & Chill, Zahara delved into details about her booking fee and what TS Records purportedly paid her. At the height of her career, she mentioned getting booked at fees ranging from R80,000 to R120,000, depending on whether her full band was included or not. Shockingly, despite these figures, Zahara claimed to receive a mere R15,000, which she had to plead for from the record label.
Adding to her grievances, Zahara asserted that TS Records owed her millions in earnings, implying they managed everything on her behalf. When prompted about the alleged R10m to R30m owed, Zahara expressed her belief in karma catching up with those accountable for withholding her rightful dues.
