Did you know that the actor had a ‘no kissing policy’ on his contract at one point, meaning he didn’t lock lips with anyone on screen.
Most soapies, including Generations, like sealing the deal of romance with a kiss, well not for Vuyo Dabula at some point.
The actor once explained that the ‘no-kissing’ policy was because of his religious and spiritual beliefs.
He revealed this in an interview with Sunday Times.
“There was a time when I wouldn’t kiss on camera as an actor. It was both a spiritual and religious thing for me. When I took that stance I truly believed that I was doing the right thing.”
However, he eventually relaxed the rule and decided to lock lips and get intimate.
Despite playing a diabolical thug in a suit, Vuyo Dabula is a very spiritual man.
He revealed that he got this from his dad who observed culture and frequently consulted with spiritual healers.
The actor said he has long periods where he wants to be removed from people and connect with his spiritual side.
We can totally understand how faking intimacy with strangers made him feel.
