A Brutal Night in Joburg: Mzansi Stunned as Cold-Blooded Cop Takes the Life of a Metro Officer
South Africans are still in shock over a video of a police officer shooting and killing a metro cop after a heated argument outside a nightclub in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday, 26 June, in the parking lot of Drama nightclub, where the two off-duty officers were partying.
How The Joburg Cop Took Out The Metro Officer
According to eyewitnesses, the metro cop, who was armed with a gun, tried to leave the parking lot but was blocked by the police officer’s vehicle. A verbal altercation ensued, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, shows the metro cop pulling the police officer out of his car and threatening to assault him. Another man can be seen on the car, trying to intervene.
Moments later, gunshots can be heard, and the metro cop falls to the ground with a bloody chest. He was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

Law Enforcement Authorities React
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) confirmed that it is investigating a murder case against the police officer who has not been arrested yet.
IPID spokesperson Robbie Raburabu said their investigators collected evidence at the crime scene.
“We are still trying to establish the motive and the circumstances of the shooting. We are also looking into the conduct of the other police officers at the scene,” he said.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the slain officer, who has not been named yet.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla said the officer was off-duty when the incident occurred and that they could not comment further on the matter as SAPSs were investigating it.
“This is a tragic and unfortunate incident that has shocked us all. We urge anyone who has information or witnessed the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation,” he said.
