A Final Goodbye| Moving Photos From AKA’s Intimate Farewell Ceremony
The late rapper Kiernan Jarryd “AKA” Forbes was laid to rest following a private funeral ceremony that was held at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The rapper died at the age of 35 after being assassinated on Friday, 10 February when he was exiting the Wish Restaurant in Durban.
AKA’s memorial service was held on Friday and the funeral was scheduled for Saturday.
On Saturday, AKA’s friends and family were seen in visuals as they made their way in a convoy towards the rapper’s final resting place.
However, as the funeral was a private affair, no footage was available of the full procession or the activities that followed upon their arrival.

A few days ago, AKA’s family announced that they will proceed with the planned release date of the late rapper’s upcoming album, “Mass Country,” on February 24, 2023.
The family has issued a press statement confirming that the album will be launched as per AKA’s prior commitment, despite his untimely passing.
The full statement read,
“Johannesburg, Thursday, 16th February 2023 – With the nation engulfed with the grief of the tragic untimely passing of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, The Forbes family has acknowledged the outpouring of support and love from South Africa and beyond.
“The family continues to celebrate the life of their son. To honor his legacy, they are choosing to continue with the release of the Mass Country album on the 24th of February as planned.”
