All bark, no bite: Somizi pays up in his high-profile divorce from Mohale
South African reality TV star, Somizi Mhlongo, has withdrawn his divorce summons against his ex-husband, Mohale Motaung. Somizi has also paid Mohale’s legal fees as ordered by the court.
The legal document submitted by Somizi’s legal team stated that the plaintiff was withdrawing the action against the defendant and tendering the defendant’s taxed party and party costs. The document read:
“Kindly take notice that the plaintiff hereby withdraws the action instituted against the Defendant and tenders the Defendant’s taxed and/or agreed party and party costs.
According to Somizi’s lawyers, an expert opinion informed them that not all customs were complied with during their public wedding, which means that they were never married as per the law. This revelation came as a shocker to fans as the two had a very public and grand wedding.
Somizi pays Mohale’s legal fees in divorce proceedings
Mohale’s lawyer, Mabu Marweshe, said that this is the end of the road for the divorce as it’s considered they were never married. They are now considering taking action against Somizi for the alleged assaults and possible defamation. In a statement he released he stated that:
“This is the end of the road in terms of the divorce as it’s considered they were never married. We are aware of actions that can be taken, which include the alleged assaults. We are also considering whether there is a possible case of defamation in respect of the allegations that were publicly made that our client is the one who issued the summons and wanted half of Somizi’s assets, which painted him as a gold digger.”
Social media users congratulated Mohale after Somizi withdrew the case and paid his legal costs.
