Baby Mama Drama: Monique Muller Accuses Katlego Maboe of Refusing to Pay Their Son’s School Fees
In a recent social media storm, Katlego Maboe’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Monique Muller, has publicly accused the ‘Deal or No Deal’ presenter of neglecting his responsibility to pay their son’s school fees.
Monique took to Instagram to share her frustration, also labeling the situation as a form of “economic abuse.”
A History of Contention
The couple’s tumultuous history has been widely covered in the media, with accusations ranging from domestic abuse to infidelity.
In 2020, Monique obtained a protection order against Katlego, accusing him of domestic abuse, infidelity, and even transmitting an STI. However, in February 2022, Katlego was acquitted of these charges due to lack of evidence.
Parental Responsibility Under the Spotlight
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Monique Muller put Katlego on a blast as she accused him of refusing to pay their son’s school fees. Without directly mentioning Katlego’s name, she criticized celebrities who appear to neglect their parental responsibilities, particularly school fees. Monique Muller wrote,
“Are there any other 6-figure earning fathers refusing to pay their kid’s school fees?
“It really be the celebs y’all fight for… that pleads poverty when it comes to taking care of their kids. And literally willing to let their child go without education. But plays ‘Father of the Year’”
She even suggested that the show “Deal or No Deal” could contribute funds towards the fees.
“Maybe Deal or No Deal can donate some funds there. I can forward the school’s banking details. Or are his fans willing to donate?”.
Allegations of Financial Imbalance
Monique went on to allege that Katlego had insisted their son attend a prestigious private school in Cape Town but wanted her to pay half of the fees, which she claimed she couldn’t afford. She emphasized that his income far exceeds hers, and paying the fees in full should not be a financial burden for him
“You earn ten times more than your baby mama. So, paying school fees in full would not affect your pocket. But you insist that half of her salary must go to school fees (we see this all the time with financial abuse in maintenance courts,” Monique wrote.
Monique further accused Katlego of “hiding” his multiple income streams.
