Best To Ever Do It: AKA Gets Six Award Nominations at Metro FM Awards
The late South African rapper AKA has been nominated for six awards at the Metro FM Music Awards. AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, was killed on February 10th this year.
He has been nominated for several categories for his album, “Lemons (Lemonade),” including Song and Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Hip Hop Artist, Best Male Artist, and Best Music Video.
AKA is leading the nominations alongside Sjava, who also received six nominations. The awards ceremony will take place on May 6th, 2023, at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
Fans React to AKA’s Six Metro Award Nominations
Nadia Nakai, AKA’s girlfriend, congratulated him on Instagram for his nominations. In her post she quoted lyrics from his song Army on his latest Mass Country album. Nadia said:
“Everyone that wrote me off, gon’ eat shit for breakfast!!!” Congratulations baby!!!
AKA’s fans, known as the Megacy, are happy that he has been recognized for his work, but they are sad that he cannot witness it himself.
The Megacy has pledged to vote for AKA to ensure he wins all the awards. The fans are rallying behind him on social media to show their support. The ceremony will be a fitting tribute to AKA, who was one of the best rappers in South Africa. Some of the comments on Twitter are shown below:
