“Black Coffee, It’s Time to Raise a Glass to Zakes Bantwini!” Tweeps demand
For a decade, Grammy–award–winning DJs Zakes Bantwini and Black Coffee have been engaged in a feud. The two had once been close friends and even produced a few hits together. But then, out of the blue, the two stopped talking.
However, with Zakes‘ historic win of the Best Global Music Performance award for “Bayethe”, tweeps begged Black Coffee to congratulate him. In response to the request, the SAMA award–winning musician took to social media to celebrate his win.
He also dedicated the award to his late parents. In 2022, Black Coffee also bagged a Grammy award in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category for his project titled Subconsciously. In 2021, he revealed why he wouldn‘t be playing Zakes‘ smash hit Osama in his sets. He said that even though Osama was fire, it just wasn‘t his kind of vibe.

The Black Coffee & Zakes Bantwini collabo was one of the best eras we have seen musically in RSA. Now they are both Grammy winners, it says something. I wish they can squash the beef and create something wonderful again

No shade, but can we celebrate Zakes bantwini’s grammy win without putting Black coffee in it This is zakes’s time and win. He should be trending right now
However, some are of the mind that given that Zakes Bantwini did not congratulate Black Coffee as well the other DJ is not obliged to do the same.
