Cape Town Police Nab Suspects Linked To AKA Shooting
Police have reportedly arrested three suspects in relation to the murder of rapper Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA.
A reliable insider involved in the inquiry into the rapper’s murder has disclosed that the alleged perpetrators were arrested in Cape Town and are currently in police detention, IOL reports.
The suspects are expected to be brought to Durban.
Colonel André Traut, the Western Cape police spokesperson, refused to give a statement when he was approached for comment, redirecting inquiries about the arrests to the KwaZulu-Natal police.
“It is a KZN case, should we get any information, it will be sent to them. You should contact them for information,” he said.
He did not confirm if the men were arrested in Cape Town.
KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda also would not confirm the arrest.
“We have not received any update on the AKA case,” he said.
In February, AKA and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were killed following a shooting incident on Florida Road in Durban.
AKA was targeted while he was standing outside the Wish restaurant, when an assailant approached and shot him in the head, resulting in his death.
AKA’s Bodyguard Shares Security Loopholes
AKA’s bodyguard, Anwar “Dogg” Khan, recently shared security loopholes that might have led to the musician’s tragic death.
During an interview on eTV’s My Guest Tonight, Anwar “Dogg” Khan revealed that AKA and his team had disregarded protocol by visiting Wish, the restaurant where the rapper was tragically shot and killed.
Khan went on to accuse AKA’s road manager, Siya Mdluli (aka Scorpio Siya), of orchestrating the breach of protocol that resulted in the ill-fated visit to Wish.
