Renowned award-winning producer DJ Euphonik finds himself entangled in a legal dispute as one of his child’s mothers files a maintenance lawsuit against him calling him a deadbeat dad. In an exclusive revelation by Sunday World, the unnamed mother has sought a court order from the Joburg high court, demanding that Euphonik contribute R25,000 monthly for the care of their two children.
Financial Neglect Allegations
The legal documents, which we have had access to, outline the mother’s claim that Euphonik has been neglecting his financial responsibilities, particularly towards their second child who has special needs.
Expressing her concern, the mother pleads with the court to issue an order directly, bypassing the maintenance court of the Randburg magistrate’s court. She emphasizes that Euphonik, a highly successful international and local DJ, earns significantly more than her but only covers the school fees for their children.
“I pause to state that, although I am aware that maintenance must be dealt with separately and at a correct forum, the respondent, who is hugely a successful international and local DJ, and who earns and owns significantly more than I do, pays only school fees for our two children,” the court papers reveal.
Claims of Hypocrisy
The mother accuses Euphonik of hypocrisy, highlighting that he provides housing and covers all other expenses for his other three children with different wives. She asserts that Euphonik has consistently ignored discussions about their children’s maintenance and verbally attacked her for alleged neglect.
Detailing an incident, she mentions Euphonik’s refusal to assist with dental costs for their son, despite accusing her of neglect. “Indeed, he has recently accused me of neglecting our son’s dentistry, but when I asked for help from him to pay the costs of the imminent appointment, he refused,” she states in the court papers.

Maintenance Demands
In response to Euphonik’s alleged behaviour, the mother is seeking R12,500 per month for each child. The requested amount should be deposited into her account and increased by 5% annually or aligned with the South African consumer price index as of January 1. She insists that Euphonik, being the higher earner, should continue these payments until the children become self-supporting.
Additionally, she demands that Euphonik continue to cover school fees and future tertiary education costs for the children. Furthermore, she expects him to contribute to the expenses of three school extracurricular activities or sporting events per child.
Response and Sub Judice
When approached for comment, the baby mama declined, citing that the matter is sub judice, indicating that legal proceedings are ongoing.
