In a surprising turn of events, Nandipha Magudumana broke down in tears during her court appearance, revealing a harrowing story of alleged kidnapping and threats orchestrated by Thabo Bester.

Alleged Forced Departure and Threats

Nandipha Magudumana delivered a heart-wrenching affidavit explaining the circumstances surrounding her departure from South Africa.

She claimed that on March 17, she was forcefully taken by Thabo Bester and driven out of the country against her will. She claimed,

I was instructed by accused Thabo Bester to get into a car. I complied with his instructions and taken out of the country against my will. I did not voluntarily depart.

With her voice shaking, Nandipha Magudumana shared her fear and helplessness during the alleged incident.

She claimed that Thabo Bester threatened her, leaving her defenseless and at his mercy as she was whisked away from her home country. The estranged mother of two expressed her terror and highlighted her lack of reason to willingly leave South Africa.

A Mother’s Plea: Caregiver for Her Children

Nandipha Magudumana’s emotional testimony took a heartwarming turn as she emphasized her role as a mother and caregiver for her two young daughters, aged 11 and six.

She maintained her commitment to her responsibilities, stating,

“I don’t intend to live as a fugitive. I will not evade my trial. I will stand by my trial. I am a well known medical practioner and would not think of evading my trial. I can be given bail conditions.”Her assertion was underlined by her willingness to adhere to any bail conditions imposed.

As the bail application proceedings continued, Nandipha Magudumana expressed her intent to remain in South Africa and not evade any court appearances. Addressing her financial capability, she confidently stated that she could afford bail up to R10,000.
