Clearing the Air: Pearl Thusi Opens Up About Her Relationship with DJ Zinhle
For a long time, these two were like peas in a pod. Their kids hung out as ‘sisters,’ and they jet-setted off on vacations together. But then the scene shifted. Silence engulfed their togetherness, and their absence from each other’s company became conspicuous. Meanwhile, DJ Zinhle formed a tight bond with rapper and fashionista, Moozlie.
Pearl Thusi acknowledges there was a falling out as is characteristic of all friendships. Although they did not speak for a while, she still holds Zinhle dear. In a recent chat on DJ Fresh’s podcast, Pearl put it straight:
“Zinhle and I have always been friends. I consider Zinhle to be a sister, to be honest, and I have three sisters. There have been many times when I’ve had a sister where we don’t speak for a year half, or a long time, just to give each other peace because we can’t seem to find some sort of equilibrium… We’re adults, we’re growing, we’re evolving, so, sometimes we’re going to have moments we’re not agreeing on things.”

Pearl Thusi added that the fallout is not the only thing that made them drift apart. She said that their relationship has evolved over time. DJ Zinhle got married and welcomed another daughter into the world.
“I must say that our lives have evolved. There was a time you’ll see us together because we were living together. Then she moved out. Now she’s married, she has another child… she’s been through so much. She’s building an empire. Here I am making sure that the empire is growing in the little way I can as well,” Pearl Thusi revealed.
Pearl said that she and DJ Zinhle will always be connected, “I think there’s a microscopic energy towards us.”
