Fired Generations: The Legacy’s Mazwi Moroka Actor Musa Ngema Lands New TV Gig
Former Generations: The Legacy actor Musa Ngema did not remain unemployed for a long time after being fired from the show last month.
It is alleged that the actor has already been snapped by the popular SABC 1 drama Skeem Saam.
Ngema, who played the role of Mazwi Moroka in Generations, was allegedly fired from the soapie due to strained relationships with his fellow actors and crew members.
As a result, the producers wrote off his character, and he was shown to have died. Interestingly, Ngema’s on-screen “funeral” was used to mark the return of Connie Ferguson and Rapulana Seiphemo to the show.
“The writing department has worked hard to ensure that the departure of Musa Ngema is handled in a way that is true to the story and respectful to the fans. He has done a fantastic job of portraying the character, and we are grateful for his dedication and commitment to the role. Once again, we thank him for his contribution,” the production said at the time.
Musa Ngema Joins Skeem Saam?
However, Ngema is set to revive his acting career with a role on the educational program Skeem Saam, which has been gaining attention recently due to the storyline involving Melita and Dr. Kgomo’s cheating antics.
According to a source, Ngema has been seen around the Skeem Saam offices. The same source, who is close to the situation, expressed their joy over Ngema’s departure from Generations, as it is expected to bring more viewership to their show.
“Skeem Saam wants to surpass Generations in terms of popularity and numbers, lately they have been trending almost every day” adds the source.
According to another source, they were still negotiating contracts and money issues.
“If they agree on the terms and conditions he is definitely joining,” the source adds.
When called for comment by a local publication Zimoja, Skeem Saam publicist Sumaya Mogola denied that Ngema is joining Skeem Saam.
”That is not true, he is not joining us,” said Mogola.
