Gun Linked To AKA’s Murder Recovered in Umlazi, Arrests Made
The investigation into the murder of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane has taken a significant turn as reports emerge of the recovery of the alleged murder weapon over the weekend.
Gun Recovery in uMlazi
According to an unnamed source close to the investigation, the gun believed to have been used in the murders was recovered in uMlazi, located south of Durban. Despite not being authorized to speak to the media, the source confirmed the recovery of the firearm, as reported by IOL.

Suspect Nabbed in Possession of the Firearm
A man in his 20s was apprehended after being found in possession of the firearm, according to Kaya959. The firearm was subjected to ballistic testing, which reportedly yielded positive results linking it to AKA’s murder.
Unconfirmed Reports Suggest a Hired Gun
Though not officially confirmed by the police, unverified reports indicate that the recovered gun was allegedly a hired weapon. AKA and Tebello were tragically shot at point-blank range on February 10, 2023, outside Florida Road in Durban.

Progress in the Investigation
The recovery of the firearm marks a significant development in the ongoing murder case. In March, four individuals were initially arrested in connection with the murder but were later released due to the police’s failure to charge them.

Lynn Forbes, AKA’s mother, recently shared her concerns about the ongoing murder investigations. In an interview on ‘The Carol Ofori Podcast,’ she revealed her doubts about whether the person who paid the hitmen to carry out the crime would ever be found.
While expressing her belief that the person who pulled the trigger may be apprehended, she expressed uncertainty about identifying the individual responsible for financing the act.
