Horror on Metrobus: Woman Shot Dead By Unknown Gunman in Roodepoort
In a shocking and tragic incident, a woman was fatally shot by an unknown man while aboard a Metrobus in the Roodepoort area of Johannesburg.
The heart-wrenching event was confirmed on Wednesday by Metrobus in a statement.

Woman Shot Dead in Metrobus: Details of the Incident
According to Metrobus, the tragedy occurred while one of its buses was travelling on Boabab Street in Fleurhof, en route to Sandton. An unidentified individual boarded the bus and later opened fire on commuters attempting to board. Sadly, one woman was shot and killed during the incident.
In its statement, Metrobus expressed deep concern for the commuters who witnessed the horrific event and extended solidarity to the family of the deceased, who remains unidentified at the time of writing.
Metrobus pledged to dedicate all available resources to assist authorities in investigating this criminal act.

It is with regret that Metrobus must inform all its commuters and citizens of Johannesburg at large that on 26 June 2024 while travelling on Boabab Street in Fleurhof en route to Sandton, our bus was boarded by an unidentified person who later proceeded to open fire on commuters who were attempting to board the bus.
Unfortunately, one fatality resulted from this incident. Metrobus wishes to convey its concern for commuters who witnessed this incident and to express solidarity with the family of the deceased commuter.
Metrobus will avail all its resources to assist the authorities in their investigation of this criminal incident.
This incident happens at a time when Metrobus has recorded a positive track record of safety over many years. The safety of our commuters remains a top priority.
