In a whirlwind of controversy, popular TV personality Jub Jub, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, finds himself at the center of an escalating legal storm.

Accused of heinous crimes including rape, assault, attempted murder, and kidnapping, the entertainer is facing a challenging road ahead. Adding to his woes, two prominent television shows, Uzalo and Clash of The Choirs, have taken a dramatic step by terminating his contracts, throwing his career into turmoil.

Uzalo’s Shocking Decision: Contract Terminated

Uzalo, one of South Africa’s beloved soap operas, has taken a surprising and decisive step. Stained Glass Productions, the company behind the show, sent Jub Jub an email confirming the termination of their contract, Sunday World revealed. The decision comes after the broadcaster, SABC 1, raised concerns about the allegations against him.

Nokuthula Dlamini, Uzalo’s line producer, verified that Jub Jub would no longer be part of the cast, citing the need to distance the show from the controversy. However, they may reconsider their decision if the charges against him are dropped.

Clash of The Choirs: A Silent Exit

Jub Jub was also slated to host the popular show “Clash of The Choirs.” However, the show’s representative, Venessa Tloubatla, has been tight-lipped about this development. The silence regarding his role suggests a possible exit from this program as well.

Charges Multiply: A Daunting Legal Battle

Jub Jub’s legal challenges continue to mount. In a recent court appearance on August 24th at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court, it was revealed that he now faces a total of 13 charges.

These charges range from multiple counts of rape, indecent assault, and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to several counts of kidnapping. The gravity of these accusations has cast a shadow over his career, putting not just his contracts but his future in jeopardy

Awaiting November: Postponement Requested

With his lawyer, Ntsako Baloyi, requesting a postponement of the case to November 8th, Jub Jub’s legal battle is far from over.

The case has drawn public attention, involving four complainants, including singer Amanda, songstress Kelly Khumalo, Radio and TV host Masechaba Khumalo, and a fourth woman believed to be a relative of the musician.
