King Monada in Hot Water After Skipping Court

King Monada is in hot water after allegedly missing a scheduled court appearance.

The Lemenemene hitmaker was set to defend himself in a legal dispute with Mphoza Mashabela, the organiser of the Limpopo Legends Awards. The case stems from accusations that King Monada has refused to return booking fees for the awards ceremony after failing to show up twice for his scheduled performances.

King Monada Sparks Outrage After Skipping Court

King Monada failed to appear at the Ritavi Magistrate’s Court in Tzaneen, Limpopo on 2 September despite being reminded by his legal team about the court appearance the day before.

“His legal team reminded him but he chose to skip court, which left the courtroom stunned as he was the one who brought in a notice of defence to the letter of demand delivered to him to refund the organiser, which he has been failing to pay for two years,” said a source.

Another insider shared that King Monada’s absence took his legal team by surprise, as they were prepared to resolve the matter.

“King Monada disappointed his legal team with his no-show. They requested a postponement so the matter can be finalised. He has proved again he isn’t taking things seriously,” the source said.

Case Postponed to Later Date

As a result, the case has been postponed to September 30.

Attorney Thobejane, who represents Limpopo Legends Awards organiser Mphoza Mashabela, expressed his frustration at the continued delays.

“What makes me angry is that I had to travel from Gauteng to Limpopo for the matter. He must explain why he cannot refund the money. We’ll continue with or without him in court,” he said.

Promoter’s Claims Add to the Drama

This isn’t the first time King Monada has been accused of skipping obligations. Last month, promoter Eric Thoka claimed the singer failed to appear at his All White Picnic event in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo.

King Monada’s decision to miss court may see him facing the same fate as controversial gossip blogger Musa Khawula who is currently serving a 60-day sentence for failing to appear in court in Gauteng. Khawula was arrested during a separate court appearance in July and is set to be released on September 6.
