Makhadzi’s ‘Boyfriend’ Sues Musa Khawula Over Scandalous Accusations
Controversial celebrity gossip monger Musa Khawula finds himself in hot water once again as prominent businessman Shumani Lawrence Mulaudzi, who is reportedly singer Makhadzi’s boyfriend, has taken legal action against him.
Mulaudzi alleges that Khawula has made false and damaging statements about his personal life, leading to a defamation lawsuit.
Makhadzi’s ‘Boyfriend’ Sues Musa Khawula
Known for his unfiltered social media posts, Khawula claimed that Mulaudzi was involved in an extramarital affair and implicated in a gang-related murder in Venda. He even shared images of Mulaudzi, Makhadzi, and the alleged mistress and murder victim on his now-suspended X account (formerly known as Twitter).
Mulaudzi vehemently denies these allegations, stating that Khawula’s posts are malicious and aimed at tarnishing his reputation and jeopardizing his business interests.
Mulaudzi gave Khawula a 48-hour ultimatum to publicly retract his statements and apologize. Unfortunately, Khawula did not respond to this demand.
As a result, Mulaudzi’s legal team served Khawula with a summons, seeking a substantial amount of R500,000 in damages for defamation of character. Additionally, Mulaudzi filed a criminal case against Khawula at the Camps Bay police station in Cape Town, where Khawula is based.
Repeat Offender: Khawula’s Past Defamation Case
This isn’t the first time Khawula has faced defamation accusations. In March 2023, the Johannesburg High Court ordered him to pay R500,000 to celebrity photographer Dumani Khuzwayo, who accused Khawula of spreading false rumours about having AIDS.
Khawula has yet to respond to the current lawsuit, but he is facing the repercussions of his actions as his X account has been suspended for violating the platform’s rules.

Arrest Warrant and Postponed Court Appearance
In a separate development, an arrest warrant has been issued for Musa Khawula after he failed to appear at the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Khawula is charged with the murder of his ex-boyfriend, Wandile Khambule. Musa’s lawyer, who was present in court, claimed to have been in communication with his client. According to the lawyer, Musa explained his inability to attend the proceedings. The lawyer requested the court to postpone the execution of the arrest warrant until February 20, 2024, assuring the court that Musa, currently based in Johannesburg, would be available on that date.
