Makhadzi in Hot Water For No-Show in Mpumalanga
Makhadzi’s track record of failing to show up at scheduled gigs continues, leaving event organizers and fans disappointed.
The award-winning musician failed to show up for an event she was booked for on the 24th of December last year.
An event organiser from Mpumalanga is now regretting trusting the musician and wants his money back.
Makhadzi was slated to perform at three venues across Mpumalanga: Ekus Cafe, Mdhluli Outlets in Nelspruit, and Quiet Vibes in Bushbuckridge.

Disappointment in Mpumalanga Over Makhadzi No-Show
The event organizer, Mfundo “Thonsi” Mathonsi, shared that the musician charged them R50,000 for two gigs and requested R35,000 for the third one, plus accommodation. Mathonsi mentioned that they made every effort to meet Makhadzi’s demands.
However, disappointment ensued when Makhadzi failed to show up on the 24th. In an attempt to salvage the situation, they proposed rescheduling the performance for the 27th, but once again, Makhadzi did not make an appearance.
“We went overboard to make sure that the people of Mpumalanga get to see Makhadzi performing this side since he has a huge following. She let us down, this is despite us making sure that we met her demands. We went all out, and all of our events were sold out. We even asked that since she never made it on the 24th, she must come on the 27th. She failed also to come through. We had to explain to the people that had bought tickets that we were going to reimburse them. That is a loss for us, a huge loss,” he said.

Unanswered Calls and Social Media Confirmation
According to reports, Makhadzi is now avoiding their calls, and her manager, Maphuthi Perez, has blocked their contact. The event organizers have provided evidence of their bookings, and Makhadzi herself had even posted on social media about her participation in the event.
An associate of Thonsi mentioned that they had no intention of publicly exposing Makhadzi, as it could harm their working relationship with other artists. However, they were left with no choice but to take this step after being blocked by her.
Thonsi further revealed that Makhadzi never made it to the venues, claiming she had experienced a flat tire on her way to Nelspruit.
