Mthatha Traffic Cop and Married Lover Found Dead and Undressed
In a mysterious and tragic incident, a traffic cop and his married lover were found dead, undressed, in his Mthatha home in the Eastern Cape.
The circumstances surrounding their demise remain unclear.

On Monday, an unnamed 42-year-old traffic police officer employed by the KSD Local Municipality in Mthatha was found lifeless at his residence, alongside a 30-year-old woman believed to have worked at Old Mutual in Mthatha. Unconfirmed sources suggest that the two had been involved in a clandestine romantic relationship for several months, despite the woman being married.
Concern arose when the police officer failed to appear for work on Monday, prompting a colleague to check on him, leading to the grim discovery of their lifeless bodies, with the woman found atop the officer.
Background of the Deceased Woman
Another source revealed that the woman hailed from KwaZulu Natal, specifically a small town in Richmond within the Midlands region. The source added that her husband was a well-known bodyguard for a prominent politician in KZN.
“The woman is married to a bodyguard to a well-known politician in KZN. Her husband used to be a bodyguard of the murdered ANC leader Sifiso Nkabinde. The couple moved to Mthatha when the husband got a job as a bodyguard of an official at the KDS Local Municipality,” the source elaborated.
Official Confirmation and Ongoing Investigation
When contacted by ZiMoja, Mthatha police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu confirmed the incident. She stated that an inquest had been initiated by the police in light of the deaths of the involved couple. Colonel Priscilla Naidu further mentioned that a post-mortem examination would be conducted to ascertain the cause of their demise.
“Police are investigating an inquest docket after two bodies of a 40-year-old man and 30-year-old female were found in Sibanye Extension, Mpindweni Location on Monday. It is alleged that the deceased was a traffic officer at KSD local municipality in Mthatha. It is further alleged that when the deceased failed to report for work, a colleague went to his homestead and found the two dead with the house locked,” Naidu said.
