South Africans online have dragged musician Danger following the release of the new Big Nuz album, Last Man Standing.
Big Nuz released a new album called Last Man Standing on November 9, 2023. However, the album is not a group effort but a solo project by Danger, the only surviving member of the original trio. The other two members, R Mashesha and Mampintsha passed away in 2015 and 2022 respectively.
Danger Remains Carrying The Big Nuz Name

R Mashesha, whose real name was Sibusiso Khomo, died on August 7, 2015, at the age of 34, due to complications from a surgical operation. The exact nature of his illness and the type of surgery he underwent were not publicly disclosed, but some sources reported that he had throat problems.
Mampintsha, whose real name was Mandla Maphumulo, passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 40, after suffering a second stroke while in hospital. He had a minor stroke a week earlier after performing with Big Nuz.
This leaves Danger, born Mzi Mkhwanazi, as the surviving member of the trailblazing Kwaito group Big Nuz.
Danger Drops New Big Nuz Album
Last week, Danger dropped Last Man Standing as a tribute to the legacy of Big Nuz and their contribution to the South African music scene. It features five songs that blend kwaito, amapiano, and gqom genres, with guest appearances from Toss, DJ Tira, Emza, MLU, Worst Behaviour, Shayo, Phila, Bhar, and L’vovo.

As much as the album received positive reviews from fans and critics alike, some criticised the album’s cover and title. People felt that he was boasting that he had survived while Mampintsha and R. Mashesha died.
