Bianca Naidoo Shares Her Journey Through Grief and How She Still Mourns Riky Rick’s Death
Bianca Naidoo recently shared her experiences adjusting to life after the tragic loss of her partner, Rikhado “Riky Rick” Makhado.
Riky Rick, a beloved figure in the music industry, took his own life on February 23, 2022, at the age of 34.

Survival Mode to Living
In a candid conversation on the podcast with Mpoomy Ledwaba, Bianca opened up about her ongoing struggle with grief and how it has changed her perspective on life.
“Riky’s passing definitely made me realise I have been in survival mode for the longest time and not necessarily paying attention to things that are important,” Bianca said.
She explained that the past year has been particularly challenging, bringing her to a point where she recognized the need for a shift.
“Last year brought me to a point where I’m like I can’t do this anymore. I need to start living and also start being honest with yourself and being honest about your feelings.”

Navigating Grief Following Riky Rick’s Death
Bianca described her grief as an unpredictable journey, with both good moments and times when she completely shuts down.
“It’s been tough, it really has been. It feels like it’s new and you’re starting again and I honestly take one day at a time trying to figure it out,” she shared.
Reflecting on her day-to-day life, she noted that she thinks of him everyday.
“There’s not a day that goes by or a moment that goes by that I don’t think of him in things I’m doing. Every day is having to go through that and you just have to go through it.”
