Be part of the Green Revolution where Green Vision Trust partnering with Okatoie in this Anti-Poaching & Eco tourism exercise.
At Okatoie we are looking for Volunteers with an appetite for the outdoors and conservation at large to gain experience in nature conservation and Anti-Poaching.
Our two-week Voluntary Anti-Poaching Patrol Program
in Matetsi, Hwange can boost your wildlife experience if you are not employed or a student looking forward to working in the wilderness and this is something you can put on your CV as we are recognized as an Anti-Poaching institution.
SCHEDULED FOR: 01 – 15 FEBRUARY 2022.
During Phase 15, our main emphasis will be on:
- BASIC BUSH AWARENESS,
- FLORA & FAUNA
- ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES,
- HUMAN AND WILDLIFE CONFLICTS,
- CLIENTELE ETIQUETTE,
- BASIC TOURISM AND CONSERVATION,
- TRACKING,
- GUIDING,
- HUNTING,
- FARM MANAGEMENT
- BUSH CAMPING
THIS PROGRAM IS WALKING INTENSIVE AND PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PREPARED TO WALK MEDIUM TO LONG DISTANCES PER DAY …
Get a direct encounter with the animals and get experience with wild animals behaviour
- It’s the home for special species like elephants, lions, leopards just to mention in passing
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 Sleeping bag/ fleece
- 1 Two men tent (compulsory)
- 1 Mosquito net (optional)
- Flexible bundu walking footwear (No tight-fitting footwear to avoid blisters)
- Tekkies /Amathenisi / Osebele/ All star
- T-shirts (green or khaki) No bright colours are allowed
- Jean trousers/khaki trousers /bundu shorts
- Tekkies for jogging in the mornings
- Hat /Cap
- Binoculars /GPS (optional)
- Teacup, plate n spoon
- Toiletries
- Pen n notepad
- Okatoie t-shirt (optional)
*NB* ALL YOUR LUGGAGE MUST FIT IN YOUR BACKPACK…
