Pearl Thusi Gets Dragged And Clears Her Twitter Timeline

It’s been an eventful week on Twitter. Social media activists are doing the Lord’s work calling out abusers and their supporters in the SA entertainment industry. Unsurprisingly, actress Pearl Thusi who is known to have a strained relationship with SA twitter was not left out. A video of the actress and Linda Moeketsi making fun of social media darling and influencer Bonang Matheba after she opened a case of domestic violence resurfaced. Bonang was allegedly assaulted by disgraced radio and tv personality DJ Euphonik. Pictures of a battered Matheba made rounds but the case was later withdrawn and rumor has it this was after DJ Euphnik threatened to expose her drug addiction.

The DJ went on to accuse the award-winning Matheba of being psycho “hlanyo” which soon turned into a catchy phrase on the timeline. Pearl Thusi wasted no time joining in the trend, making a video directed at Euphonik claiming to be a Hlanyo in need of a #Nonke t-shirt, another phrase made popular by DJ Euphonik.

Thusi is infamous for her views on colorism, insisting her thriving career has nothing to do with her skin tone, and that it in fact worked against her because she is considered not ‘Black’ enough for some roles. Gushing in tears an emotional Thusi who is never short of gigs by the looks of it, recalled an incident where she wanted to burn herself to appear darker. After a video of her and Linda Moeketsi mocking Bonang’s misery, it seems Thusi cleared her Twitter feed. This got some tweeps suspecting that this could be because her views may compromise international “bags” DJ Euphonik apparently uses the name Themba for international gigs because pictures of a bruised Bonang appear whenever his stage name is googled.
