Media personality and reality TV star Somizi surprised many when he attended his ex-husband Mohale’s engagement party on Saturday, 11 November 2023.
The former couple, who tied the knot in September 2019, had been embroiled in a messy divorce saga that involved allegations of physical and mental abuse, infidelity, and jealousy.
According to legal documents obtained by TshisaLIVE, Somizi withdrew his divorce summons against Mohale in March 2023, after it was revealed that they were never legally married in the eyes of the law. Somizi had to pay Mohale’s legal fees as a result of the withdrawal. Mohale, however, maintained that he experienced abuse at the hands of Somizi and said he was considering other legal actions.

Somizi, who took time off from his Metro FM show and his role as a judge on Idols Season 17 to deal with the divorce, denied the abuse allegations and said he wanted to move on with his life. He also said he wished Mohale happiness and success in his future endeavors.
Somizi and Mohale’s divorce drama has been documented in their reality show, Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road, which premiered on Showmax in November 2023. The show features interviews, footage, and audio clips that reveal the details of their relationship and its breakdown.
Mohale Engaged
Mohale, who is a model and entrepreneur, announced his engagement to his new partner, Thabo Moloi, on Instagram in October 2023. He shared a picture of a diamond ring on his finger and captioned it: “He asked and I said yes”. Moloi is a fashion designer and the founder of TM Couture, a luxury clothing brand.
The engagement party was held at a lavish venue in Johannesburg and was attended by close friends and family of the couple.
Somizi Attends Mohale’s Engagement Party
Somizi was among the guests and was seen mingling with other celebrities and taking pictures with the newly engaged pair. He wore a pink costume with a majestic pink train. Imitating Barbie, he catwalked into the venue to the sound of Barbie World by Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj and Aqua.
