Somizi’s Cookbook Outshines Jamie Oliver’s
When Somizi’s cookbook; Dinner at Somizi’s – I Am Not A Chef was launched late last year, it nearly crashed the system.
It is now revealed by media commentator; Phil Mphela that the TV personality’s cookbook is the number one selling book in the food and beverage chart in South Africa with Jamie Oliver coming second.
In just a couple of hours after launching his cookbook: Dinner at Somizi’s – I Am Not A Chef the media personality Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung revealed how pre-sale orders had hit the roof.
The media personality took to Twitter to thank his supporters: “Thanks to everyone who has pre-ordered and apologies to those who encountered problems. The system nearly crashed.”
He warned his followers before the launch that there was a limited amount of books, so they’d have to pre-order to avoid disappointment. He posted a video on Instagram:
“I want to and would love to break records, but I cannot break records without you. Let’s break records, let’s sell, sell, sell!” he enthusiastically said to his followers” and he’d definitely broken those records now.
He also said his cookbook would make for the perfect Christmas gift and judging by the responses during the festive season and even now, South African’s can’t get enough of Somgaga’s dishes.
Somgaga’s husband; Mohale also congratulated him on his huge milestone and said:
“Super proud of you babe @somizi” but Somizi didn’t reply to his tweet.
