South African Singer Rethabile Khumalo Speaks Out After Surviving Poisoning Incident

South African songstress Rethabile Khumalo, the South African has spoken out about surviving a poisoning incident orchestrated by a friend.

The traumatic event, which her mother, Winnie Khumalo, disclosed in June, led to Rethabile’s hospitalization. Now, she is recuperating at home and concentrating on her music and her son.

Rethabile Khumalo Fights for Life After Poisoning by “Friend

On the 27th of June, veteran musician Winnie Khumalo took to Instagram to reveal that her daughter, Rethabile, was fighting for her life in the hospital.

She disclosed that Rethabile had been hospitalized after being poisoned by a friend.

“So i thought i will keep quite until my daughter is ok…
She is fighting for her life…She has been poisoned by a so called friend,” says Winnie Khumalo

After undergoing multiple surgeries and treatments, Rethabile recovered from the poisoning incident and was discharged from the hospital.  However, in July she relapsed was hospitalized again.

Taking to her Instagram, Rethabile revealed that she is in a lot of pain. She asked for prayers from her followers and fans.

Please pray for me…I am back in hospital the pain is unbearable 😔.”

After spending weeks in the hospital, she was finally discharged. She is currently recovering at home.

Rethabile Speaks Out,  Refuses to Reveal Friend’s Identity or Pursue Criminal Case

Speaking to Sunday World about her poisoning incident, Rethabile expressed her desire to put the ordeal behind her. She refused to reveal the name of the friend who tried to poison her or share details about how it happened.

She also revealed that she is not going to open a criminal case against the ‘friend’. She said she is going to let God deal with her.

I just want to leave it behind and be grateful for my life. Whatever happened should be a lesson to everyone, and I am not opening any criminal case but looking forward to the future and focusing on pushing the song I dropped, #eGalile. God will deal with that woman.

Rethabile believes that the poisoning was motivated by jealousy, as the friend allegedly wanted to emulate her. She decided not to delve into specifics about the incident but emphasized her commitment to her son and career.

“I had my baby boy, my sunshine. All that I will be doing is for him,” she affirmed.

Grateful for Outpouring of Love and Support During the Difficult Recovery

Despite the setback caused by her illness, Rethabile remains optimistic and grateful for the support she has received.

Regarding my healing journey, I have received so much love, prayers, and support from everyone who cares. From now on, I will be paying attention to everyone and being extra careful.”
