The Orlando Pirates midfielder has been in and out of the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, facing charges related to an assault on his ex-girlfriend, Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala. Lorch’s recent legal proceedings inadvertently shed light on whether he shares a child with Natasha Thahane.
Back in September 2020, Lorch and Mathithibala’s relationship became a subject of public attention when Sunday World reported Lorch’s arrest for physical assault against Mathithibala. According to TimesLIVE, Mathithibala, a fitness enthusiast, informed the court of their romantic involvement, which commenced in 2018. She revealed that they moved in together the same year, and in 2020, they decided to start a family, but she experienced a miscarriage.
The Paternity Revelation: Lorch Fails To Mention Natasha Thahane’s Child
In an attempt to secure a more lenient sentence, Lorch’s legal representative, Pierre de Kock, informed the court about his client’s family situation. He mentioned that Lorch has two children, aged eight and three. De Kock also emphasized that Lorch’s income as a soccer player is subject to fluctuations and is roughly around R50,000. Lorch has financial responsibilities to his first child, who resides with their mother in Qwa-Qwa, while he lives with his other child. De Kock sought a suspended sentence for his client.
This information implies that Thembinkosi Lorch is not the father of Natasha Thahane’s one-year-old son.

Natasha Thahane and Thembinkosi Lorch became notable figures in June 2021 when eagle-eyed Twitter observers spotted them enjoying a romantic vacation in Zanzibar. Although Lorch initially denied their relationship, their love story blossomed, as evidenced by a heartfelt birthday message from the former Skeem Saam and The Queen actress to the footballer in July of that year.
In March 2022, Thahane sent shockwaves through the internet when she announced her pregnancy via an Instagram post. Her son arrived the following month. However, the identity of her child’s father remains undisclosed as the Blood and Water actress has chosen not to reveal this information.
