Unmasked: Meet The Gang Leader Threatening DJ Sumbody’s Business Partner

Kagiso Setsetse, the co-owner of Ayepyep Lifestyle Lounge in both the Pretoria and Cape Town branches, has revealed that he was compelled to depart from the country due to an imminent threat on his life from a notorious kingpin.

Setsetse, who partnered with the late musician DJ Sumbody in the establishment, deemed it necessary to leave for his personal safety.

According to the Daily Maverick, Ralph Stanfield, purportedly the head of the 28s gang in Cape Town, is identified as the gang boss responsible for the threat on Kagiso Setsetse’s life.

SETSETSE AFRAID TO COME BACK TO SA

Following the tragic murder of his business partner, DJ Sumbody (whose real name is Oupa John Sefoka), Kagiso Setsetse has relocated to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The move comes five months after the cold-blooded shooting that claimed the lives of DJ Sumbody and one of his bodyguards.

The incident occurred in Woodmead, Johannesburg, as they were en route to a performance on November 20th of the previous year. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.

In light of the circumstances, Setsetse has informed the investigating officer handling DJ Sumbody’s murder that he is willing to provide his statement either through a virtual interview or in writing.

“I will not come to SA for this because I know I will be killed immediately,” he said.

He added: “The underworld has serious contacts in most authorities’ ranks and they would know I’m in the country, thus putting my life at risk.”

COURT ORDER AGAINST ALLEGED GANG BOSS RALPH STANFIELD

On April 28, 2023, Kagiso Setsetse took legal action by filing a court order at the Western Cape High Court against Ralph Stanfield. The court order specifically addresses the issue of funds being diverted into Ayepyep Lifestyle Cape Town.

According to Sunday World, the purpose of the court order is to compel Stanfield and his wife, Nicole Johnson, to return all 14 of the club’s speed points.

It is alleged that individuals associated with Stanfield were instructed to remove the original speed points from the club and replace them with speed points belonging to Johnson’s cousin.

As a result, the funds generated by the club were being redirected to Johnson’s cousin. It is worth noting that Nicole Johnson holds the position of general manager at the Cape Town establishment.

The court order seeks to rectify this situation by demanding the return of the club’s original speed points and ensuring that the funds are rightfully channeled back to Ayepyep Lifestyle Cape Town.

RALPH STANFIELD’S ALLEGED CRIMES

According to the Daily Maverick, Ralph Stanfield and Nicole Johnson have been implicated in a criminal case involving accusations of police officers assisting in the creation of fraudulent competency certificates and firearm licenses for individuals who were not eligible for such documentation.

Furthermore, the report states that in July 2017, Stanfield was targeted in a drive-by shooting that resulted in multiple injuries. Remarkably, Stanfield managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital, although he collided with other vehicles in the process.

In a recent report by the Daily Maverick, it was revealed that Nicole Johnson, director of Glomix House Brokers, has been involved in various housing projects in Cape Town.

Glomix House Brokers, under Johnson’s direction, has undertaken the construction of 204 houses in Valhalla Park.

This development has raised concerns due to its alleged connection with Malusi Booi, a former City of Cape Town human settlements mayoral committee member. Booi’s office was raided in March of this year as part of an investigation into his alleged ties to the so-called construction mafia operating in the city.

The investigation is focused on irregularities in the awarding of tenders to specific construction companies for the construction of low-cost housing projects.

As a result of the police raid at his offices, Booi was removed from Cape Town’s mayoral committee.
