In the video that went viral on TikTok, Facebook and X, the Uber driver started cutting out the woman’s braids with scissors to convey his message.
In the video, he can be heard asking the woman what she thinks his family will eat after he is unpaid for his work. The woman was well dressed as if coming from a party or going to one. She could be heard chanting in Zulu, saying ‘No, no, no’ while her hair was cut from the roots.
Video ignites a debate on social media.
With rising cases of women claiming to have been taken advantage of by Uber and Bolt drivers, people have started wondering if some of the issues are not true.
In 2019, it trended that women paid Uber drivers with what X (Twitter then) users termed Clito Currency. Many people warned women to ensure enough money to avoid such cases and embarrassment.
