Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Postgraduate Scholarships in China without IELTS 2023
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is giving Postgraduate Scholarships to international students who want to study Master’s Degree programs in China without having to take the IELTS exam. This scholarship opportunity is for students who have an English proficiency certificate from the university instead of an IELTS score.

The Benefits of the scholarship
The scholarship offers three types of benefits:
- A full scholarship, which includes a tuition fee waiver for three years (valued at RMB 240,000 in total) and a monthly stipend of RMB 5,000
- For three years (valued at RMB 180,000 in total); a fees-only scholarship, which covers only the tuition fee
- For three years (valued at RMB 240,000 in total); and a partial tuition-fee scholarship, which offers up to 50% reduction in tuition fees for three years (valued at RMB 120,000 in total).

It is a condition of the award that full scholarship holders are required to undertake a Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant role; while these positions are also available for fee-only scholarship holders and partial tuition-fee scholarship holders, who will be paid with university standard.
Scholarships are available for full-time study only, and there are currently no scholarships available for part-time programmes.

Application Procedure:
APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP FOR AN EXISTING FUNDED PH.D. PROJECT
You can apply for an existing Ph.D. project which has received funds from the University or external funding bodies. These projects have an established research topic and a formed supervisory team. You can check the below list of funded Ph.D. projects for information about specific projects available or contact potential supervisors to discuss funding opportunities.
These projects remain open until the position is filled. The start date of the programme is normally the first day of March, June, September, or December.

Academy of Film and Creative Technology
The Academy of Film and Creative Technology is multi-locational with four schools. Two are formed from existing XJTLU schools: the School of Film and TV Arts, and the School of Cultural Technology from the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). Each will retain its current name and will form part of the first phase of development.
The second phase contains the development of the XJTLU-Enlight Film School in partnership with Enlight Media, to be established in Yangzhou. The third phase of development is planned for the Greater Bay Area and will explore cultural management and entertainment media through the creation of an Institute of Culture and Creativity (ICC).

Founded in 2020, the Design School consists of the Departments of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Industrial Design, and Urban Planning and Design. School of Humanities and Social Sciences
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences was established in September 2020 to research and educate across different disciplines in humanities and social sciences.
XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang)
XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) will focus on seamless collaboration between academic staff, students, industry, government, and the wider community, with the long-term aim of fostering the development of a modern, entrepreneurial, and sustainable society.
The scholarship application is only open to the applicant applying for a full-time doctoral programme.
International Business School Suzhou – Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University
TIMELINE
There will be two application rounds for each academic year:
First round– applications submitted by 17:00 CST (UTC+8), 15 October will be reviewed in the first round and the successful scholarship recipients will be announced in December.
Second round– applications submitted by 17:00 CST (UTC+8), 15 April will be reviewed in the second round and the successful scholarship recipients will be announced in July.
The scholarship deadlines are strictly adhered to and late submissions will not be accepted.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION SUBMISSION
The scholarship application should be submitted through the online system following the normal Ph.D. application procedure. The admission process for the doctoral program will be initiated after the release of the scholarship result.
