In a tragic event that has left the Bloemfontein community in shock, a man has been arrested after his pitbulls killed his girlfriend for disciplining her child. The 28-year-old woman lost her life after being brutally attacked by four pit bulls on Monday afternoon. The attack took place at Namibia Square and has raised serious concerns about pet ownership and public safety.

According to Lt-Col Thabo Covane, the police spokesperson, the victim, whose name has not been released as her family is yet to be informed, sustained severe injuries to her lower body. The dogs, reportedly owned by her boyfriend, a 42-year-old man, launched the vicious attack under distressing circumstances.

Details of the Attack

Initial reports suggest that the tragic sequence of events might have been triggered when the victim disciplined her five-year-old child in front of the dogs. This action possibly escalated the aggression of the animals. Interestingly, a fourth pit bull, which had recently given birth, attempted to protect the victim but was unsuccessful in preventing the fatal outcome.

Emergency Health Services were quick to respond to the distress calls, but, unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries before she could receive adequate medical attention. The community has been left in a state of disbelief, grappling with the horror of the incident.
