AKA’s Memorial Service Tickets Sell Out Within Hours

Tickets for the late rapper AKA’s memorial service which were made available online were off the shelves within hours leaving some fans disappointed as they also wanted to pay their last respects to the icon.

On Friday night, AKA, and his long-time friend and associate Tibz were fatally shot, leaving the Megacy, as his fans are known, reeling from the tragic news.

AKA’s family has announced details of his upcoming memorial and funeral services.

According to the family’s statement that was released on Tuesday, AKA, real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, will be laid to rest at a private provincial funeral scheduled for this Saturday.

Before the burial, a memorial service is planned for the late rapper on Friday, where his life and contributions will be celebrated.

The upcoming memorial service for AKA will be available to the public and streamed on his official YouTube channel, AKAWorldWide.

Those wishing to attend the memorial in person at the Sandton Convention Centre were advised to purchase tickets online.

The tickets which were made available on Webtickets from 1 pm on Tuesday, were sold out by 4 pm on the same day.

AKA’s family released a statement revealing that Bongani Mohosana, also known as Murdah Bongz or Mörda in the music industry, will not be present at the funeral service due to cultural reasons.

“We’d also like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosanas for their unwavering support during this time, As Bongani Mohosana will be in absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol,” part of the statement reads.
