The claim originates from Thabiso Tshabalala, a respected producer and event organizer, who alleges that he presented the Scorpion Kings with a proposal to host the show at the prestigious Sun Bet Arena on January 9, 2020.

According to Tshabalala, the trio had agreed to an equal share of 33% of the show’s proceeds. However, when COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, Dj Maphorisa and Kabza De Small allegedly hosted a show at the same venue on July 22, 2020, effectively executing Tshabalala’s original idea without his involvement.

According to Briefly, it is estimated that the Scorpion Kings pocketed a whopping R3 million from the event.

Feeling wronged and determined to protect his creative rights, Tshabalala took swift action. His legal team issued a stern letter of demand to Dj Maphorisa and Kabza De Small seeking the payment of R1 million.

The letter firmly asserted that the Scorpion Kings’ actions amounted to a breach of the verbal agreement and emphasized the financial losses Tshabalala suffered as a result of their alleged theft.
