The ongoing dispute between Metro FM radio host Somizi Mhlongo and his ex-husband Mohale Motaung has taken a new turn. It has recently come to light that Mhlongo still owes Motaung for the damages caused to his car. Motaung has reportedly engaged his legal representatives to discuss a potential lawsuit against Mhlongo as he has failed to replace the damaged vehicle. Motaung’s Growing Impatience
A close source to Motaung, who is now a club owner, revealed that he has become increasingly impatient with Mhlongo’s lack of response regarding the replacement of the damaged car. The source stated that Motaung’s lawyers are preparing a letter of demand to seek compensation for the car, which has been pending for over two years.

The Initial Incident
In August 2021, Motaung claimed that Mhlongo had forced him off the road with his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, resulting in damage to his Audi A3. In a letter seen by the press, Motaung’s lawyers demanded that Mhlongo replace the car. However, Mhlongo’s response was to offer a payment of R30,000 for the repairs, which would be made in equal monthly installments over a year, as per his lawyers’ letter.
According to another source, the discussions between Motaung and Mhlongo regarding the damaged car reached an impasse, and no compensation has been provided to date. The source further added that if Mhlongo does not comply with the upcoming letter of demand, he may face allegations of assault, as desired by Motaung.

The Divorce and Assault Allegations
Motaung and Mhlongo’s divorce was finalized in March but was marred by allegations of assault. Motaung claimed that he experienced physical abuse from the popular media personality during their relationship. In a televised interview on Showmax, Motaung recounted an incident where Mhlongo threatened him with a knife only three weeks into their relationship. These assault allegations may also be raised in court if the matter proceeds to the high court.
Both Motaung and Mhlongo were unavailable for immediate comment on the ongoing dispute. Motaung’s lawyer, Mabu Marweshe, confirmed their discussions but refrained from disclosing any further details at this time.
