Molemo Jub Jub Maarohanye has made a formal request to adjust his bail conditions amidst facing charges of r_ape and attempted murder. Attired in sombre black, Jub Jub appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court today, flanked by his two uncles and two security personnel.

Upon being granted bail amounting to R10,000 in July of the previous year, Jub Jub surrendered his passport to the authorities, as directed by the court. Additionally, he was instructed to surrender it to the Brixton police. Presently, the musician and television personality is confronting 13 allegations, including r_ape, indecent assault, assault causing grievous bodily harm, and kidnapping. These charges stem from complaints publicly disclosed by individuals who were previously associated with him.

In a preceding court appearance, Jub Jub’s defence, led by Advocate Terrence Baloyi, requested a postponement to furnish representations to the Director of Public Prosecutions. The prosecution asserted that their investigations had concluded, signalling readiness to proceed.

State Prosecutor Agnes Bezuidenhout voiced no opposition to the postponement, affirming the completion of their inquiries. She stated, “We have provided the defence with all pertinent information. Although the defence seeks another delay, we are not contesting it. Nevertheless, it’s imperative to note that our investigations were finalized some time ago.”

Court Proceedings and Ruling On Bail Conditions

Magistrate Betty Khumalo, presiding over the case, declared, “Mr. Maarohanye, your case has been adjourned to address the modification of your bail conditions on the 25th of April. However, the 13th of June is earmarked for the Director of Public Prosecutions’ decisions.”
