Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye to file a civil suit against his accusers. This follows the state’s decision to withdraw all r_ape and s_exual assault charges against him in the past week. The presenter is now a free man after the legal drama over the past two years.

The allegations date back to between 2006 and 2010. Maarohanye, a well-known television personality, turned himself in to the authorities in July of last year following the issuance of an arrest warrant.

Jub Jub Charges Dropped By State

“This verdict brings a sense of relief,” expressed hip-hop artist Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub. He was facing serious allegations, including r_ape, attempted murder, and assault. Actress Amanda Du-Pont accused Maarohanye of r_aping her and mentioned that he had sought forgiveness for his actions.

The National Prosecuting Authority concluded that there was insufficient evidence for a successful prosecution, dismissing all charges.

According to the Sowetan, Amanda Du-Pont had lodged a criminal complaint at the Brixton police station on February 10, accusing the Uyajola 99 host of r_ape. Du-Pont initially brought these allegations to light in a video she posted on Instagram. This was in response to Maarohanye’s remarks during an interview with podcaster Mac G, where he boastfully mentioned “smashing” her.

Maarohanye’s Response

In a statement to TshisaLIVE, Jub Jub expressed his profound gratitude towards his legal team for their steadfast dedication to justice and truth. He stated,

This verdict brings a sense of relief and vindication not only to me but also to all those who supported me. The outpouring of support has been truly touching, and I am grateful for it.”
