The former Skeem Saam actress shared that they’ve mutually agreed to end their romantic relationship but will continue as friends and co-parents.
In her Instagram post, Thahane wrote,
“Thembinkosi Lorch and I have mutually decided to part ways romantically. Despite the change in our relationship, we will remain friends and co-parents. I am looking forward to this new chapter of my life. #NewBeginnings.”

Shortly after this announcement, Thahane shared a brief clip featuring American singer Rihanna. The clip, from a 2009 ABC News interview, shows Rihanna discussing the night her ex-boyfriend, musician Chris Brown, physically abused her. In the video, Rihanna expresses her thoughts, saying,
“All I kept thinking all the time: When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop?”

Lorch’s Past Legal Troubles
in November last year, Lorch received a suspended sentence and a R100,000 fine for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala, in September 2020. The Randburg Magistrates Court also deemed him unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act.
Lorch faced charges and was convicted of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for strangling and hitting Mathithibala in 2020. Mathithibala recounted that Lorch returned home late one night, and when she inquired about his whereabouts, an argument ensued. Lorch then allegedly slapped, strangled, and pinned her to the ground.
