R100k Reward Offered For Information Leading To Arrest Of Thabo Bester

A private security firm, Fidelity ADT has announced a cash reward of R100,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the capture of Thabo Bester, a notorious fugitive also known as the Facebook Rapist.

Bester is currently one of South Africa’s most wanted men, having escaped from Mangaung Correctional Centre in May 2022 and evaded capture since then.

Taking to their Instagram page, Fidelity ATD put up a wanted man poster of Thabo Bester. Captioning the post, Fidelity ATD wrote;

“Help us bring this criminal to book. We are offering R100,000 to anyone who can provide us with information that leads to the successful arrest and conviction of Bester, otherwise known as the ‘Facebook rapist’.”

Despite authorities’ extensive efforts to track him down, Bester has managed to evade capture, making him one of the most-wanted fugitives in South Africa

Task Force Team Formed to Track and Trace Thabo Bester

During a media briefing, Makgothi Thobakgale, the Correctional Services commissioner, confirmed the formation of a tracking and tracing team tasked with finding fugitive Thabo Bester, who escaped from prison in 2022 and went into hiding after his cover was exposed.

Thobakgale urged the public to assist with any information that could aid in Bester’s arrest and capture.

The creation of the task force team to locate Thabo Bester has generated diverse reactions on social media.

Some Twitter users expressed their belief that Bester may attempt to disguise himself and infiltrate the team tasked with tracking him down.

@RonnyMhlanga:

If this guy can able to fake a media company and address respectful people from prison, what will stop him to be in the “tracing and tracking team”?

@Lobola_themoney

Thabo Bester is probably disguised as one of the task force and helping them track and trace.

@Envy_Growth;

The real question now is, are the members of the tracing and tracking team not part of his friend list? The algorithm in this story is just too much to process, I have difficulty trusting anything and anyone. It’s taken a year|ground up and the media to initiate this.
