Rivalry Put Aside: Resurfaced Video of AKA Singing Cassper Nyovest’s Verse Takes the Internet by Storm
A resurfaced video of late rapper AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, singing Cassper Nyovest’s verse on the song “Ngud'” by Kwesta has elicited emotional reactions from Twitter users.
Forbes was tragically killed in a street shooting in Morningside, Durban, as he was on his way to perform at Yugo for his birthday celebration. The suspected hitman is still at large.
Fans are paying tribute to the late Jika hitmaker by sharing memories of him on social media. One video that has particularly struck a chord with people is a clip of AKA rapping his arch-rival Cassper Nyovest’s verse on the song “Ngud’.” This has stirred up strong emotions among those who have seen it.
AKA and Cassper were known to have a contentious relationship while the rapper was still alive. The two frequently engaged in physical altercations and even planned a boxing match to resolve their differences, but they were unable to come to an agreement on the terms of the contract.
Despite their heated rivalry, both AKA and Cassper respected each other’s musical talent. In fact, a video of Cassper dancing to AKA’s hit song “Jika” in a club was recorded and AKA responded by saying, “I think it’s cool.”
In the old clip, AKA was in a club, and the song came on, and he said:
“Help me with this verse. Do you want me to rap this verse? You wanna see it live? Ayt I’ll do it for you. Pull your cameras out.”
