Skhumba Just Doesn’t Cut It – Mzansi Tweeps
Television presenter, radio host, and comedian Skhumba reached the number one trending spot on Twitter this morning and had Mzansi tweeps divided over his talents. It all started when a tweep compared the Thembisa born entertainer to internationally acclaimed acts Kevin Hart, Trevor Noah, and Chris Rock, with a caption asking who was the funniest.
An onslaught of opinions broke out as social media users shared their views, with many tweeps questioning why Skhumba was on the list. Other tweeps, however, supported the Kaya FM radio host, labeling those who said Skhumba did not deserve to be on the list as classists. Tweeps argued that just because Skhumba delivers his sets in IsiZulu, his mother tongue does not mean he is not funny. The opposing camp was quick to point out that even if that were true, Skhumba’s inability to deliver sets in an international language disqualified him from the list.
