Authorities in Bloemfontein are grappling with a horrifying incident as the lifeless body of missing teen Machaka Radebe (16), who was reported missing two days ago, was discovered in an open field near Phase 9 Rocklands murdered. The grim discovery unfolded this morning, revealing stab wounds on the young girl’s back.
Ransom Demand Adds a Chilling Twist
According to Brigadier Motansi Makhele, the provincial police spokesperson, Machaka was last seen by her brother at around 12 noon in her room. Shockingly, just 45 minutes later, she was nowhere to be found. The brother’s attempt to contact Machaka led to a disturbing revelation – an unknown man answered the call, demanding a ransom for her safe return.

Makhele stated, “The brother promptly reported the incident to the police, filing a case of kidnapping. Unfortunately, Machaka’s fate took a tragic turn, with her lifeless body discovered on the morning of Monday, 4 December. The police received a tip around 2 am about a female body found in the field near Phase 9. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that the victim was indeed Machaka, brutally stabbed in the back.”

The identity of the suspect or suspects remains unknown, prompting a plea from the police for anyone with information to come forward. Provincial Commissioner Lt-Gen Baile Motswenyane has urged the investigating team to intensify efforts in bringing the culprits to justice. “We are also dealing with two other missing persons cases – Lesego Mamello Motaung and Lerato Masiu. Assistance from the public is crucial in locating them,” emphasized Motswenyane.
