Leaked Documents Implicate AKA In Nellie Tembe’s Death
The late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes is reportedly responsible for pushing or throwing Anele “Nellie” Tembe off the balcony of their hotel room at the Pepper Club hotel in Cape Town, two years ago.
This was revealed in a letter that was leaked from the Tembe family to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
TM Incorporated Attorneys, lawyers representing the Tembe family, presented these allegations in a petition to the NPA in the Western Cape, iHarare reports.
This was done after the decision was made not to prosecute Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, despite a thorough investigation into the death of Anele “Nellie” Tembe in June last year.
In the letter requesting a reversal of their decision, the Tembes presented additional evidence that they believe was overlooked during the investigation.
This evidence consists of a statement from a hotel receptionist, video footage capturing Anele’s fall, a statement from a witness named Rob Stefanutto who overheard an argument between the rapper and his fiancé before her passing, as well as evidence indicating that Anele had been assaulted prior to her fall.
Additionally, the Tembes highlighted discrepancies between the time of AKA’s call to the reception and the moment Anele fell, as captured in the video footage.
They also pointed out that she landed a considerable distance of five and a half meters from the building, which they believe could be an indication that she was pushed or thrown.
Part of the letter reads:
The deceased landed at a distance that is consistent with a person that was pushed. She landed approximately five and a half meters away from the building, whereas if she had jumped on her own, she would have landed approximately two meters away from the building.
AKA and his friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, were both tragically killed in a fatal shooting last Friday evening.
A memorial service is scheduled to be held in honor of AKA at the Sandton Convention Centre today, with a private funeral set to take place on Saturday.
