Pearl Thusi Shares Snap of Adopted Daughter After Fans Question Her Whereabouts

South African actress and media personality, Pearl Thusi, announced in 2019 that she had adopted a little girl named Okuhlekonke. Social media users have recently been wondering why she hasn’t been posting photos of Okuhle lately, only her biological daughter, Thando. Pearl Thusi has now taken to her Instagram to share a series of photos of her family, which includes Okuhlekonke,  for Mother’s day to show that she is well and happy.

Pearl Thusi’s announcement that she had adopted Okuhlekonke was met with a general feeling of pride, as many South Africans wished her well on her journey as a foster parent. Thusi, who is well-known for her role in the Netflix series “Queen Sono”, stated in an interview with TshisaLive that being a mother was a part of African culture and that raising a child was a community effort.

Pearl Thusi went on to explain that “Women do this every day, our grandmothers did this for our parents. There are aunties, women have to travel and then someone has to take care of their children. It’s a village and I’m an African and I live by everything that an African means as much as I possibly can.”
