Unathi Nkayi Reveals She Has Taken Kaya 959 To High Court

Former Kaya 959 host, Unathi Nkayi, recently shared an update with her fans regarding her ongoing legal case against Kaya FM. In November 2021, Nkayi was fired by Sibongile Mtyali, the former manager of Kaya 959, following a disagreement with Sizwe Dhlomo, the host of the radio station’s drive show.

Kaya 959 Announces Termination of Unathi’s Contract

Kaya 050 released a statement announcing the termination of Unathi Nkayi’s contract. According to the statement, certain conduct had made the relationship between Nkayi and the station intolerable going forward. The radio station confirmed that due process was followed in reaching this decision.

Court documents revealed that Unathi Nkayi allegedly suffered contractual losses amounting to R1,300,000 due to her dismissal. In response, she demanded R1,600,000 from the business. Nkayi recently took to Instagram to provide an update on the case. She mentioned that the matter has been taken to the high court, and with her mother’s approval, she is ready to share her side of the story.

Unathi’s Determination and Future Plans

Unathi Nkayi stated that she intends to present her version of events through an upcoming documentary produced by her own production company. While she suspects that Kaya 959 may attempt to prolong the legal proceedings, she emphasized her readiness to fight back, both financially and emotionally. Nkayi mentioned that she has the support of influential and wealthy individuals who will stand by her throughout this battle.

“I have been saving for the past 18 months since the day they fired me… and the case has been taken to the high court. I have some powerful and wealthy people who will back me up, so finances are not going to be my issue… I’m psychologically fortified, I’ve lost copious amounts of money already… The worst has happened to me already… I’m ready for war,” expressed Unathi Nkayi.
